Angel Flight South Central

Angel Flight South Central is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that arranges free, non-emergency air travel for children and adults with serious medical conditions and other compelling needs.

The Actors Fund

A national human services organization that helps everyone - on stage and those behind the scenes - who works in entertainment and performing arts. A safety net for those in need, crisis or transition providing comprehensive social services including counseling, crisis intervention and connections to local resources for personal, family or work related problems as well as emergency financial assistance for basic living necessities.

Max's Kansas City Project

Max's Kansas City Project provides emergency funding and resources to financially distressed individuals in the creative arts for housing, medical aid and legal aid.

Advertising Industry

Ad Relief of Greater Los Angeles

Ad Relief of Greater Los Angeles provides financial aid for members of the Southern California advertising, promotions and communications community in crisis. Applicants must have at least one full year of employment in the field, and asset limitations apply.


Dancers' Group

The Parachute Fund provides grants to members of the San Francisco Bay Area dance community facing HIV/AIDS or other life-threatening illnesses.

Professional Dancers Society

Financial assistance is available to dancers and choreographers who meet eligibility criteria. Administered by The Actors Fund.

Disaster-related assistance

Hurricane Sandy Help Center for NJ Workers and Businesses

Federal Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available for people (including the self-employed) who are unemployed as a direct result of the damages caused by the storm. This site also lists other benefits and assistance for workers and businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Modest Needs

To help persons who have lost income or incurred unexpected household expenses as a result of a disaster, Modest Needs has a grant program. The application is available online.

Motion Picture Players' Welfare Fund

The Motion Picture Players Welfare Fund (MPPWF) is an emergency financial assistance fund of the Screen Actors Guild for members living east of Omaha, Nebraska. The MPPWF can assist eligible members who are struggling with a financial, personal or medical crisis.

The Joan Mitchell Foundation

Has funding allocated specifically for emergency assistance to painters and sculptors affected by natural disasters.

Entertainment and Performing Arts Union and Guild Assistance Funds

Actors' Equity Association

Actors' Equity provides grants through The Actors Fund to current paid members with earnings of three years. The grants are intended to help with living expenses and are given once per 12-month period.

American Federation of Musicians Local 802: Musicians' Assistance Program

The Emergency Relief Fund provides direct grants to musicians in dire need. Local 802 members in good standing for at least two years are eligible.

American Federation of Musicians: The Lester Petrillo Memorial Fund for Disabled Musicians

Provides a modest grant to temporarily or permanently disabled musicians who are members of the American Federation of Musicians.

American Federation of Television and Radio Artists: Frank Nelson Fund

The Frank Nelson Sick & Benefit Fund provides emergency financial aid and other resources to qualified members of SAG-AFTRA Locals west of Omaha.

American Guild of Musical Artists Relief Fund

Members in good standing may be eligible for emergency financial assistance. Grants are administered by The Actors Fund from the New York, Chicago and Los Angeles offices.
